Wilson Creek Winery

Let me tell you that my interest about this venue/ winery was aready quite peaked since I saw the show last year that featured Everette Harp, Bobby Lyle and Paul Jackson Jr. there. So when I received the call from Betty Bennish of BB Jazz to open up the show for Norman Brown’s Summer Storm featuring Patti Austin, Paul Taylor and Alex Bugnon, there was absolutely no question in my mind as to whether or not I would perform. I just needed a date, a time, and the items needed to do my standard giveaway during the show. So once everything was confirmed and August 19th was set in stone, I started preparing for the show. I knew that I had to stick to playing my original music featured on the Full Circle Album and not succumb to the pressure of opening or closing my show with cover tunes. As hard as it is to get in front of people who don’t even know who you are and then play music for them that they have never heard before, I know that I am at my best when I can just be me. So with that in mind and the magnitude of butterflies raging in my stomach, it was finally show time. The show started off as usual with me making sure that my bond with the musicians on stage was solid and very apparent to the audience. I have come to understand that they (the audience) can only get it, if we (the band) give it! So by the time we got to the 4th song, we were all well into our beautiful relationship exchange. I appreciated all the ladies that came up on stage for the giveaway part of the show. Even after I ran out of product to give, you were still coming! Thank you.

By the time we reached our climax at the end of the show, it really meant a lot for me to see you standing on your feet with such a warm reception and ovation. If that wasn’t enough, you blew mind even more at the CD booth by making the Full Circle CD the hottest selling item of the evening!!

Thank you for allowing me to be me and embracing my story as your own!

Andre Delano Continues to Wow Fans

Brands Seek Andre Delano’s Music for Television Commercial Use

NEW YORK, N.Y.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Jazz fans coast to coast continue to experience the silky sounds of saxophonist Andre Delano at live performances from Los Angeles to Mississippi.

West Coast fans wait with anticipation as the East St. Louis native prepares to take the stage at the Wilson Creek Winery, Temecula, CA. Opening for Norman Brown’s Summer Storm, Delano will share the stage with music veterans Norman Brown, Patti Austin, Paul Taylor, and Alex Bugnon in a one night only (August 19, 2006) benefit performance to raise money for Children with Autism. Delano also will be featured with Al Williams on Sunday, August 13, 2006 at the Long Beach Jazz Festival.

On July 21, 2006 Delano returned to his alma mater as the featured performer at Jackson State University’s Battle of the Saxes. The 1994 graduate wowed a sold-out crowd including old school buddies, new fans, music enthusiasts, city officials and onlookers from every Southern state.

“The show was amazing. Each act came strapped with their unique flavor complementing each other,” Delano said. “By the end of the night, everyone was standing to their feet with overwhelming warmth and appreciation for all those who performed.”

Battle of the Saxes organizer Gina P. Carter shares Delano’s sentiment.

“People who have never experienced jazz or thought about attending a jazz concert are in awe,” Carter said. “Everyone — first timers, experienced music lovers, those hearing a live jazz performance for the first time — related to Andre’s music.”

This fall, Delano’s release “Funkborne” off his freshman album, “Full Circle,” can be heard on the Sony BMG Jazz compilation CD “The Lounge Connection” featuring other great artists like Herbie Hancock, Wynston Marsalis, Gerald Albright, Will Downing, Alfonzo Blackwell, George Benson and many others.

“Funkborne” has also been licensed by GlobalHue, the largest multi-cultural agency in the world, to be featured in an upcoming television commercial for DaimlerChrysler Jeep. Delano’s label, 7th Note Entertainment, are in discussions with several additional agencies for similar ventures.

Delano continues his musical journey with the release of a Jazz Christmas album this November entitled “First Christmas.”

Battle of the Saxes

What an incredible welcome back home from my beloved College Alma Mater , Jackson State University, as I headlined the Annual Battle of the Saxes on July 21, 2006 that was sponsored by our very own College Jazz Radio Station, WJSU. The concert featured Sax Man Jesse Primer (Canton, MS), Reggie Hines (Atlanta) and Yours Truly (LA by way of E.St. Louis, IL). The show was amazing as each act came strapped with their unique flavor that complimented the others. By the end of the night, everyone was standing to their feet with an overwhelming warmth and appreciation for all who had performed. I want to personally thank all of those who showed so much love and support at the CD signing booth. All of your encouragement and well-wishes mean so much to me. I thank WJSU, Gina Carter, Anothy Dean, Dr. Russell Thomas, Jimmy James, Dale Morris & the band, DC & Carol, BE-BOP Record Store and all of those who continue to show your unending love and appreciation for what my soul offers yours.

Lovingly Yours,

Andre Delano
